ACCOMMODATION:

All government universities of Ukraine have their own hostels for foreign students.
Rooms are fully furnished and consist of a 2- bedded and a 3- bedded room with an attached toilet. Hostel rooms come furnished with beds, mattress, pillows, blanket, 2 side tables, one cupboard per room and one table and chair per room. Occupants can change bed sheet and pillow case once in a week free of cost. Hot water is available in designated hours. All rooms are centrally heated. A plumber, carpenter and electrician are available on call. Admission to the Hostel is competitive. It is based on first come first serve and subject to availability. Students residing in the hostel sign an annual contract and are expected to follow the rules of the hostel like maintaining discipline inside the premises of the hostel, registering the names of all the visitors to the hostel, not making noise and showing consideration to fellow residents in the hostel. The hostel gate closes at 11.00 pm and all students are expected to be inside the hostel before that.

FOOD:

Ukrainian food is one of the richest national cuisines. Its dishes are well known far away from Ukraine. And the Ukrainian recipes of the foods are very popular nowadays. Is anyone, who doesn’t know the Ukrainian Borsch? The Ukrainian food is characterized with large number of components. For example the traditional Ukrainian food – borsch – contains 20 components. Different food can be bought in shops, supermarkets and agricultural markets. Cafeterias, restaurants and fast food restaurants propose different cuisine.

Medical Services:
State Universities provide free medical service in student’s hospitals. Students can also go to state and private hospitals, where a medical service is to be paid.

Human Rights:

After independence Ukraine achieved progress in development of the national system and mechanisms in the sphere of protection of human rights. Democratic elections, political pluralism, freedom of speech and mass media, establishing the democratic social state based on the rule of law have become reality. The human beings life, health, dignity and safety are recognized in Ukraine as the highest social value. The constitution guarantees the right of every person to appeal to relevant international institutions and organizations for protection of his or her rights. Ukrainians openness, accessibility and efficiency are more than just empty words.
